How results are ordered

Version 1.0 · Last updated 20 October 2026 · Deutsch

We do not choose or recommend sitters or families. The order of results follows fixed rules that are the same for everyone. Here they are. EU and Austrian consumer law, and for self-employed sitters the EU Platform-to-Business Regulation, ask us to explain the main parameters and how much each one counts.

1. Distance comes first

Results are grouped into distance bands, measured between approximate areas, never between exact addresses:

A profile in a closer band always comes before a profile in a farther band.

Distance from where? From your own approximate area, if you have a published profile. Otherwise from the place you searched for, your current location (rounded to a square of about 5 km) or the centre of the map.

2. Inside a band: a daily shuffle

Inside each band, profiles are shuffled. The shuffle is different for each person and changes once a day. It stays the same while you scroll and when you refresh on the same day. This gives every profile a fair chance to be seen.

3. A small head start for complete profiles

Complete profiles tend to appear a little higher inside their band. They never move into a closer band. A profile counts as more complete when it has:

Sitter profileShareFamily profileShare
3 or more photos20 %A text about the family (150+ characters)50 %
A text about you (200+ characters)20 %Languages set25 %
3 or more hobbies15 %A profile photo25 %
A language with a level15 %
An hourly rate15 %
At least one device15 %

A fully complete profile gets at most a 20 % head start in the shuffle. A profile with nothing extra still appears, just a little lower on average.

4. No filters

There are no filters and no sort menu. You see the sitters or families around the place you chose, nearest first. The order is always the one described on this page.

5. What does not affect the order

Whether a profile is "ID verified" does not change the order either.

6. Who you see at all

7. Changes

If we change these rules, we update this page first and change the version number above. Self-employed sitters are told 15 days in advance (Network Terms, Annex A).
