Delete your account and data

This page explains how to delete your account and data in the apps "Carbetic" and "T1D Babysitting by Carbetic", with or without the app. Both apps are developed by Carbetic Health (Diego Szekely, sole trader), Rudolfgasse 1, 2380 Perchtoldsdorf, Austria.
No longer have the app? Email diego@carbetic.app with the subject "Delete my account". See Delete without the app.
Before you start
- Cancel your plan first. Deleting your account does not cancel a Carbetic plan. Cancel it where you bought it:
- iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Carbetic, Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play Store, Profile, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, Carbetic, Cancel.
- One account for both apps. If you use T1D Babysitting in the Carbetic app and in the app "T1D Babysitting by Carbetic", it is the same account. Deleting it affects both apps.
- Other devices. Carbetic on your other devices continues without an account.
Your choices

Delete in the app
In "T1D Babysitting by Carbetic"
- Open the Profile tab.
- Under Account, tap Delete profile and account.
- Read what will be deleted and confirm with Delete.
- Confirm with Apple or Google, or open the sign-in link we email you, when asked. This proves it is you.
In "Carbetic"
- On the home screen, tap the T1D Babysitting button at the top, next to the settings gear.
- Open the Profile tab.
- Under Account, tap Delete profile and account.
- Read what will be deleted, confirm with Delete, then confirm with Apple, Google or the sign-in link we email you.
This also works if you signed in to T1D Babysitting but never finished your profile or accepted the network terms: the same Account section lets you delete that sign-in and everything stored for it.
Your carb-counting data, in both apps
- Open the settings: in "Carbetic", the gear on the home screen; in "T1D Babysitting by Carbetic", the gear on the Carbs page.
- Go to General, Data & Privacy and tap Delete my data.
- Confirm.
This deletes your scan history and meal photos on this phone, turns data sharing off and sends us a request to delete the Carbetic data we store for you on our servers, such as codes, referral records and shared meal photos. It does not delete your T1D Babysitting account and does not stop Carbetic Follow: stop a Follow connection in Settings first, which deletes the shared copy. To delete everything, delete your profile and account first, then your data.
If you only use the carb counter and never created a network account, Carbetic has no sign-in for you. Use Delete my data as above. Your meal history is stored on your phone and is also removed when you uninstall the app.
What is deleted
When you delete your profile and account, we delete:
- your family and sitter profiles and all their photos;
- your address data and approximate area;
- your favourites, and your profile from other people's favourites;
- your blocks, and blocks of you;
- the photos you sent in chats;
- reviews about you;
- your verification result, the data from your ID check and the birth month and year you gave;
- your Apple, Google or email sign-in and your email address (for Sign in with Apple, we also revoke Carbetic's access to your Apple ID).
Your data is removed from search at once. The rest is deleted within minutes, at the latest within 30 days. Your Carbetic plan and your carb-counting data are not part of this deletion; use Delete my data for them (above).
With Delete my data, the app deletes your scan history and meal photos on this phone and turns data sharing off. We delete the Carbetic data we store for you on our servers, such as free analyses, codes and referral records, within 30 days of your request.
What is kept, and for how long

Delete without the app
If you no longer have the app, email diego@carbetic.app with the subject "Delete my account".
- Tell us your account ID (in the app under Profile, Account, "Your account ID") or the email address you sign in with. If you used Apple's "Hide My Email", that is the relay address ending in privaterelay.appleid.com or private.icloud.com.
- Say whether you want to delete only your T1D Babysitting network account or all Carbetic data.
- We send a confirmation link to the email address stored on your account. Click it to confirm that the request comes from you.
- We then delete your data in the same way as in the app, within 30 days, and confirm by email.
Cancel your plan in the App Store or Google Play yourself, because we cannot cancel it for you. If you only used the carb counter without a network account, write to us with the in-app ID if you have it, so we can find the data on our servers.
