Blocking someone

You never need a reason to block someone. If you no longer want contact, blocking ends it at once.

In short

What blocking does

How to block

  1. Open the person's profile, or your conversation with them.
  2. Tap the menu (…) and then “Block”.
  3. Confirm with “Block”.

When you report someone, “Also block” is on by default, so you can do both in one step.

What the other person sees

We do not tell them. In their conversation with you they see “This conversation is no longer available.” People see the same message when someone pauses a profile or leaves the network, so a block is never revealed.

Block, report, or both

Block when you simply do not want contact any more. Report as well if someone broke the rules or worries you. A block alone does not tell us anything, so we cannot act on it.

The easiest way to do both is to report first and leave “Also block” on.

Unblocking

Go to Profile, Blocked members and tap “Unblock”. Unblocking does not reopen the old conversation. If you want to talk again, one of you starts a new one.

If you want a break from the network

In the Profile tab you can pause a profile, leave the network or delete your profile and account.

Delete your account and data explains every step.

Still need help?

Write to safety@carbetic.app. A person reads every message. In the app you can also tap “Contact support” under Profile, Safety and help.
