When reviews appear on a profile
Why some profiles show no reviews yet, and when reviews and the average rating become visible.
The rule: 4 reviews
Reviews and the average rating appear on a profile once it has at least 4 published reviews. Below that, nothing is shown: no stars, no count and no label. The rule is the same for everyone.
So a profile without stars is not a bad sign. Many members are simply new.
Why we wait for 4
One or two reviews can give a misleading picture. With 4 or more, the average says more.
When a review is published
Reviews are published at once. Nobody waits for the other person to write one.
Reviews are from people who messaged each other on Carbetic. We don't check whether they met.
What you see once reviews appear
- In the list: the average and the number of reviews, for example “★ 4.9 (12)”.
- On the profile: the newest reviews first, each with the author's name and role and the month it was written. Show all opens the full list.
- The average is the plain mean of all published reviews, rounded to one decimal.
- Reviews are never sorted by rating, and negative reviews are never hidden.
Your own reviews
You can always read the reviews about you in the Profile tab under Your reviews, even before others can see them.
When reviews disappear again
If reviews are deleted or removed and fewer than 4 remain, the reviews and the average are hidden again until the profile reaches 4 again.
Reviews never change the order of results.
