Writing and deleting reviews

Who can write a review

You can review someone once you have both written at least one message in the chat. Families review sitters, and sitters review families. You can write one review per person. If you write again, your new review replaces your earlier one.

Reviews are from people who messaged each other on Carbetic. We don't check whether they met.

Write your review

1. Open the chat and tap Write a review.
2. Choose 1 to 5 stars.
3. If you like, choose up to 3 tags, such as Reliable or Clear communication.
4. Describe your experience in 30 to 1,000 characters.
5. Tap Publish review.

What to leave out

Don't include children's names or other details about them, health details about anyone, phone numbers, email addresses, links or social media names.

Keep it honest, fair and about your own experience. Critical reviews are fine when they're true and respectful. Never offer or accept anything in return for a review.

The automatic check

Before a review is accepted, it's checked automatically with simple fixed rules: for contact details, links, a short list of banned words and the length. It's never checked for whether it's positive or negative.

If the check finds something, the app tells you what to change, and nothing is saved until it passes. If you think the check got it wrong, tap Ask for a human review.

The other rules above aren't checked automatically. If someone reports a review that breaks them, our team looks at it. If something serious happened, report it instead of writing a review, so our team can act.

When it's published

Your review is published at once. Reviews and the average rating show on a profile once it has 4 or more reviews. When reviews appear on a profile explains why.

Delete your review

1. Open the Profile tab and go to Your reviews.
2. Under Written by you, tap Delete on the review and confirm.

You can delete your review at any time.

If you delete your network account, the reviews you wrote stay as “A family” or “A sitter”, with the month they were written. The reviews about you are deleted.

No replies

Reviews have no public replies. Anyone can report a review that breaks the rules: tap the menu on the review and choose Report. A review is removed only if it breaks our rules or the law.
